National Emergency Medical Rescue Team (Guangdong) Establishes Shenzhen Base in Bao’an

On March 26, a major step was taken toward strengthening emergency healthcare in southern China. The Bao’an District Health Bureau and Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital signed a strategic cooperation agreement, officially marking the launch of the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team (Guangdong) Shenzhen Base in Bao’an District.

This partnership aims to build a new hub for high-quality regional medical development and emergency preparedness. According to the agreement, the two parties will engage in comprehensive collaboration across four key areas: emergency medical rescue, key discipline development, smart healthcare innovation, and hospital management coordination.

The new Shenzhen base will serve as a demonstration center for emergency medical response in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, enhancing the city’s capacity to respond to public health emergencies, natural disasters, and large-scale events. It is also expected to drive the integration and balanced distribution of top-tier medical resources across the region.

With this initiative, Bao’an District is positioning itself as a central force in advancing healthcare innovation and accessibility. The base will be equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, mobile emergency units, and expert teams ready for rapid deployment.

Officials emphasized that this collaboration will not only boost emergency response capabilities but also bring long-term improvements in everyday healthcare services for residents in Bao’an and across the Greater Bay Area.

As a key part of China’s national health emergency system, the new Shenzhen base reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding public health through strategic investment, cross-institutional cooperation, and innovation-driven development.
