Shenzhen Adjusts Schedule for 5th Round of 2025 Yue B License Plate Auction
Shenzhen authorities have announced an adjustment to the schedule for the 5th round of 2025 Yue B license plate quota auctions. Originally planned to take place over the weekend, the auction will now be postponed to May 26, aligning it with the same day as the Yue B license plate lottery (摇号).
The change was made to accommodate administrative arrangements and ensure a smooth process for participants. The Yue B license plate system applies to the standard passenger car increment quotas in Shenzhen and is part of the city’s broader vehicle registration control policy designed to manage traffic congestion and promote sustainable transportation.
Under this dual system, private car buyers must either win a license plate through a random lottery or participate in a competitive bidding process—commonly referred to as “auctioning for plates.” The postponement ensures both events are held concurrently, streamlining procedures and minimizing confusion for applicants.
Participants who have already registered for the May auction round are advised to check official platforms for updates and reminders regarding auction timing, bid submission procedures, and results announcements. Shenzhen’s Municipal Transport Bureau and related departments will continue to provide support and guidance to ensure fair and orderly implementation of the quota allocation process.
As Shenzhen continues to refine its vehicle management system, efforts are also underway to promote electric vehicle adoption, improve public transportation infrastructure, and encourage green mobility solutions.
With vehicle demand remaining high in the region, timely and transparent updates to the quota allocation schedule play a key role in maintaining public trust and policy effectiveness.
